Stanley Tucci’s Negroni Tutorial Has Seduced The Internet

Stanley Tucci is the stud of the moment thanks to an Instagram video where he crafts the perfect cocktail for wife Felicity Blunt. In the three minute long clip — which has been cut and shared on Twitter like wildfire — Tucci makes a Negroni, all while drolly joking about sliced oranges and glassware. The video is seductive in part because it’s a handsome man flirting with his spouse, and in part because it shows off Tucci’s charms to their max.

First of all, a little background: Stanley Tucci has made something of a second career as one of Hollywood’s foremost foodies. From his breakthrough role in the restaurant-focused Big Night to his successful line of cookbooks, he is a man who knows his way around a kitchen. His wife, Felicity Blunt, is actress Emily Blunt’s sister. After Emily Blunt met and befriended Tucci on the set of The Devil Wears Prada, she invited him to her 2010 wedding to John Krasinski. There, the bride introduced Tucci, who was then still heartbroken over losing his first wife to breast cancer, to her sister. They fell in love and ten years later, he’s making cocktails for her in quarantine.

Now here’s what’s hot about the video itself. First of all, the setting is romantic. There’s jazz music in the background and it opens with Felicity Blunt asking, “What are you going to make me?” “A Negroni,” Tucci confidently answers. “Would you like one?” he added. And then he gets to work.

Over the course of three minutes, Tucci, dressed not in sweatpants, but in tailored slacks and a form-fitting polo shirt that shows off his biceps, expertly explains his philosophy about Negronis. He thinks the Italian cocktail should be served “up” and not on the rocks, and that you should include at least a little bit of gin even if you don’t like gin. He also maligns a popular vermouth company for being not being worth your time. There are sarcastic jokes about how handling ice with your bare hands is hygienic and how they buy their oranges pre-sliced.

Then, the most flirtatious and teasing part happens at the end, when after all that, Tucci refuses to give his wife the cocktail. “You want it, Felicity? That’ll never happen,” he says in a crazy sexy purr. (Sorry to editorialize, but it’s a crazy sexy purr.)

Of course, the video ends with Tucci gallantly trying to hand his wife the cocktail, only to realize she can’t film and pick up the glass at the same time. And that’s the end of this spectacular short film from quarantine.
