His 2019 film, Richard Jewell, shined a spotlight on an unlikely hero turned even more unlikely scapegoat who rose to prominence during the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. Paul Walter Hauser (I, Tonya) plays Jewell, a security guard hired to work at Centennial Park during the Olympics. That’s where he discovered a bomb that killed one and injured 111 others. While the bomb was planted by a Christian terrorist organization called the Army of God, Jewell found himself at the center of controversy when he was considered a person of interest.
