New Movies on Demand: ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ ‘Domino,’ ‘The Souvenir,’ and More

Happy Friday, party people! We are now in the dog days of summer, which means you’ve got one month left to rejoice in the ultimate freedom that the summer provides. So, what are you waiting for? Seize the day, do whatever you want, whenever you want; and if what you want is to binge-watch a bunch of amazing movies while you lounge in your underwear on the couch, well then call us Genie because we make wishes come true. Whether you use Amazon Video, iTunes, Vudu or your cable’s on-demand service, there are a lot of new releases coming out this week ready to be enjoyed.

Marvel fans, your time has finally come: Avengers: Endgame is now available to watch from the comfort of your own home! Jump back into the MCU and watch as our favorite superheroes (has anyone noticed that the original six are the ones that survived the snap?) battle against time, space and Thanos to avenge the fallen and restore mankind one last time. But be sure to grab a box of tissues, you’re going to need them! And if you’re a Game of Thrones fan, or just love Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, then check out Domino, a crime thriller that follows rogue Danish police officer on his hell-bent quest to get justice for the death of his murdered partner. And stand-up comedy lovers can rejoice in watching Ramy Youssef: Feelings, the amazing comedian’s latest special that came out on HBO earlier this year.

Avengers: Endgame

After a record-breaking run at the box office, Avengers: Endgame is finally going to be available on demand. The movie picks up after Thanos snapped his fingers and effectively turned half of the universe into dust. The shattered Avengers (well the Avengers that are left, anyway) are trying to move on with their lives—with very little success for some like Natasha Romanoff and Steve Rogers, and more considerable success for others like Bruce Banner and Tony Stark. But when the team finds an opportunity to bring it all back, they embark on one final quest to avenge the fallen… “whatever it takes.” The digital release also comes with bonus features like behind-the-scenes featurettes, bloopers and even Robert Downey Jr.’s (Tony Stark for those who live under a rock) original screen test for the character that started it all. The epic finale to a 10-year saga, Avengers: Endgame is a movie for the ages, and will never, ever, disappoint.

The Souvenir

In The Souvenir, a shy film student named Julie (Honor Swinton Byrne) meets and falls in love with a charismatic man (Tom Burke) and subsequently invites him to move into her apartment as a roommate. The relationship quickly turns when Anthony repeatedly borrows money from Julie—much of which she gets from her well-off family— to fund an apparent heroin addiction. Julie, disillusioned by love and Anthony’s manipulative character, defies her friends and family and continues to fall down into an emotionally (and financially) draining relationship as her dreams to become an artist hang in the balance.

Fool’s Gold

Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson team up again in Fool’s Gold, a romantic comedy and adventure flick about a divorced couple who go on a wild goose chase for the ultimate treasure: the Queen’s dowry. Ben “Finn” Finnegan (McConaughey) has spent his entire life looking for buried treasure, which has left his neglected wife Tess (Hudson) frustrated and ready to get out of the hunt—and the relationship altogether. But just as Tess starts her new life working for a billionaire on his yacht, Finn seizes the opportunity and convinces the money man and his debutante daughter to join and fund his quest for the elusive treasure. As they evade gang members and former partners while on the hunt, Tess and Finn come together to find the real treasure they have been searching for all along.
