Who Is Romain on Netflix’s ‘Selling Sunset’?

It’s only been on Netflix for one weekend and Selling Sunset is already a buzzy sensation. Netflix’s first foray into the world of glam real estate reality shows delivers drama while showing off some of the Sunset Strip’s most luxe properties. Throughout Season 1, you get to meet all of the Oppenheim Group’s charismatic realtors, and you also meet the people in their lives. One is Mary’s boyfriend Romain, a hunky French guy with a smile that won’t quit. You want to know more about Romain, and we don’t blame you.

Who is Romain on Selling Sunset?

Introduced in Episode 1, Romain is Mary’s boyfriend and he plays a major role in her storyline throughout the season. We first meet Romain while Mary’s showing him around a totally fabulous property. Mary reveals that she met him through a client, saying that Romain’s boss was moving some French pastry chefs to the area a few years ago and she helped him find a place to stay. She immediately had the hots for him and the feeling turned out to be mutual. Now they’re living together and looking to upgrade their home.

There is one obstacle in their way, though, and we find out about it in Episode 2. Mary is 37 and Romain is 25, and the topic of children kinda ruins what was going to be a romantic one-year anniversary dinner date. Mary finds out Romain wants kids in five to ten years, but Mary–who already has a 21-year-old son–doesn’t know if that’s gonna work out for her. What happens next? What’s Romain Bonnet’s Instagram like?

You can get a glimpse of his life via Instagram at @romaiin.bonnet. Not surprisingly, Romain also works as a model, and his Instagram definitely shows that off. So, where are the thirst posts of this hot pastry chef cooking up delicious treats in the kitchen? There are none. There are also zero results for “Romain Bonnet pastry chef” or even “Romain Bonnet chef” when you search Google. Maybe Romain was an under-the-radar kinda chef, or maybe his cooking days are behind him. I don’t know. I do know that there is an Instagram photo of him with a deconstructed shirt half-painted on his naked body paired with a caption quote from turn of the century captain of industry Henry Ford.

Whether or not Romain was ever a pastry chef like Mary says, we may never know. There is, however, a lot of pics of the couple on Romain’s Insta. Here they are in October 2017 enjoying a polo event.

Isn’t it nice seeing them on dates that don’t involve seeing properties or having very serious discussions about children? They look like they’re having so much fun in those pics!

Are Romain and Mary still together?

This is what you want to know, isn’t it? Good news for all the Mary/Romain shippers out there: just a few months ago, Mary went to France to meet Romain’s family.

It’s clear from their social media presence that the love story between Romain and Mary definitely continues past Selling Sunset Season 1. Will it get to continue in Selling Sunset Season 2?
