Yes, that is Zendaya you spotted in The OA: Part II. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you guys sooner, but Netflix asked me not to!

The Spider-Man: Homecoming actor makes a surprise appearance in the Season 2 premiere of Netflix’s mysterious sci-fi. The 22-year-old former Disney star plays Fola, a puzzle-loving teen with dyed blue eyebrows. She’s not the only new character that OA fans meet: Much of the first episode follows Karim Washington (played by actor Kingsley Ben-Adir), a private detective hired to find a missing Vietnamese girl named Michelle. As it turns out, Michelle got mixed up in an augmented reality mobile game that’s all the rage with the teens. For some reason, the game—or puzzle, as Zendaya says, it’s technically not a game because puzzles don’t have losers, just people who are stuck—has led these teens to a house in San Francisco, where they are all hunkered down, trying to get to the next level.

Zendaya is one of these teens, and she teaches Karim about the seductive lure of the puzzle. (She also teaches him what the acronym “IRL” stands for. How did he not know that?) With a little guidance from her, Karim is able to solve one level of the puzzle, and he’s given his next clue: “Three wise, man.” What does it mean? Even Zendaya doesn’t know, but she does think that Michelle, the missing girl, probably figured it out.

How Karim and Zendaya fit into the larger plot of The OA— Prairie, dimension-jumping, movements, etc—will be revealed in future episodes, but I won’t spoil that for you. I will say that if you are watching The OA: Part II purely for Zendaya, prepare to be disappointed: After her brief appearance in “Chapter 1: Angel of Death,” she does not return again until Chapter 5. That’s all I’ll say! Also: Can we talk about her awesome blue eyebrows? Now that’s what I call a lewk.
