American networks aren’t the only ones with revival fever! Almost a decade after the telenovela Las muñecas de la mafia (a.k.a. The Mafia Dolls) dominated the ratings in Colombia, Netflix ordered a revival of the series that picks up where the saga originally left off. Season 1 detailed the lives of five young friends, all women caught in the deadly web of a powerful crime lord named Braulio Bermudez. Season 2 picks up 8 years later as things once again heat up.

The Mafia Dolls Season 2 Cast: The revival features a few original cast members as well as a new lineup of women. Returning are Ampara Grisales as Lucrecia and Katherine Escobar as Olivia. Lucrecia, once Braulio’s trophy wife and now a successful crime author, has her new life crushed by the return of her ex-husband’s enemies. She’s left with no choice but to seek revenge the only way she knows how: with a gun and her wits. These events line up with Olivia’s return after spending 8 years in prison, and her former relationship with Braulio drags her into the drama as well.
The new actors include Paola Rey stepping into the role of Brenda, the mother of Braulio’s daughter; Paula Barreto as Martha, the endangered attorney for a crime lord; and Carla Giraldo as Janeth, a young actress who gets involved with the criminal underworld for a movie part. Season 2 has everything you want in a Mafia Dolls revival: kidnapping, blackmail, murder, and revenge.
