The CW’s hotly anticipated reboot of Charmed premiered last night. Starring Melonie Diaz, Madeleine Mantock, and Sarah Jeffery, the 2018 version of the series is a reboot of The WB’s 1998 supernatural drama that famously featured Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs, Shannen Doherty, and Rose McGowan.
One of the most common questions regarding the reboot is if the new series will be related to the original. As our own Kayla Cobb reports, CW President Mark Pedowitz said at the Television Critics Association‘s winter tour that the two shows would not be related. The 2018 edition does, however, contain important elements of the original show’s mythology (like the Book of Shadows), but you shouldn’t expect any in-universe references to Prue, Piper, and Phoebe.
