Michael Moore Reveals Trump-Inspired ‘Fahrenheit 11/9’

Michael Moore made a major announcement during his Thursday night appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The controversial filmmaker behind movies like Bowling for Columbine, Fahrenheit 9/11, and Roger & Me revealed that he’s putting the finishing touches on his new anti-Trump film, Fahrenheit 11/9. The movie, which is named after the day Trump was announced as president-elect, was actually unveiled at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, but Moore announced the release date (September 21) and showed a clip of the doc during his Late Show appearance. So what exactly is Fahrenheit 11/9 about?

“This is about how the hell we got in this situation, and how we’re gonna get out of it, Moore told Colbert.” More specifically, the official synopsis of the film states that the movie is a “provocative and comedic look at the times in which we live.” Fahrenheit 11/9 will “explore the two most important questions of the Trump Era: How the f*ck did we get here, and how the f*ck do we get out?”

Last May, Moore possibly alluded to the film when he sent an ominous tweet that mentioned Trump as well as Roseanne. “I know Roseanne. And I know Trump. And they are about to rue the day they knew me,” Moore tweeted, even including a clip of the trio from a 1998 episode of Barr’s syndicated talk show, The Roseanne Show.

Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 11/9 arrives in theaters on September 21.
