Woman Crush Wednesday: Mandy Moore Is Conquering Life’s To-Do List

Hey friends, it’s everyone’s favorite time of the week again, Woman Crush Wednesday. And this time we’re honoring America’s real life Disney princess, Mandy Moore.

WHO’S THAT GAL: Mandy Moore

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Mandy is truly making the best of her time off between seasons of This Is Us. Earlier this month she shared on social media that she crossed another thing off her bucket list by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. You know, only the highest mountain in Africa. This hike wasn’t just for bragging rights either. After climbing over 19,000 feet up (and another 19,000 back down), Moore took to Instagram to share what she learned from her latest endeavor. In her caption she wrote “We were only tasked with one goal every day: to find our breath and put one foot in front of the other. No distractions, no other responsibilities.” She also mentions that because their phones didn’t work the entire group was forced to be more present in meditation and the climb.

Upon getting back Mandy shared that she missed the “simplicity of it all” and wants to try and incorporate this principle into her own life because the journey is about so much more than “checking off some item on life’s To-Do list.” And from what I can tell, she has been living her best life ever since. Maybe we should all take this as life lesson too. Slow and steady does in fact win the race, and I think Mandy just won the game of life.

NBC

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: You might recognize her now as Rebecca Pearson from NBC’s This Is Us, but let’s not forget that Mandy got her start as a teenage singer-songwriter. The brunette beauty first entered the limelight (and our hearts) in 1999 after the success of her debut single “Candy.” Then her first studio album So Real went platinum, guaranteeing her a very long and prosperous career. Her first acting role was a minor parts in Dr. Doolittle 2 and shortly after she appeared as Lana in Disney’s The Princess Diaries. Since then she starred in the film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ A Walk To Remember, License to Wed, Because I Said Soand voices Disney’s adorably quirky princess Rapunzel. You can also see her in the teen flicks How To Deal, Chasing Liberty, and Saved!, and let’s not forget that last summer, we felt that fear with her in 47 Meters Down.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: Never fear! Because Mandy Moore will not be leaving your TV screen anytime soon. See her again as Rebecca Pearson in the third season of This Is Us (which we’re hoping will air later this year). Catch her alongside Amandla Stenberg and Gwendoline Christie in The Darkest Minds, in theaters August 3, 2018! And you can also hear her as the voice of Rapunzel in Pixar’s upcoming Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2.
