Netflix Renews ‘Grace and Frankie’ For Season 5, With RuPaul Onboard

Netflix announced today that they would be renewing their comedy series Grace and Frankie for a fifth season.Starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin as the titular duo, the series follows the lives of two older women whose husbands leave them because the’ve fallen in love with each other.

In addition, the legendary RuPaul will be joining the cast in season 5 as a guest star. The Emmy-winning host of RuPaul’s Drag Race will play Benjamin Le Day, a “formidable and quick-witted adversary who faces off with Grace and Frankie.”

Last season on Grace and Frankie, the women ended up thrown into a retirement community by their children after Grace allows a scam-artist contractor to mess up their beautiful beach house. Grace and Frankie then then break out of the retirement community and return to their house to see that it’s been sold. The last shot of the season is Grace and Frankie in beach chairs outside their old house, holding hands and staring off into an uncertain future. To have cut the series off at this point would have been nothing short of cruel!

Created by Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris, Grace and Frankie‘s fourth season debuted on January 19th of this year. The show will return for its fifth season in 2019.
