Watch out, Poldark fans, there are some new hotties in Cornwall. For the past two seasons, we’ve been swooning over Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner) and his hot doctor friend Dwight (Luke Norris), but last night’s Season Three premiere introduced a couple of new heartthrobs to swoon over: Demelza’s hot brothers, Sam and Drake Carne.

Who are they? Who plays them? How-oh-how are we supposed to tell them apart? Here’s your quick and dandy guide to Poldark‘s newest brooding heroes. Will they show up in Season 4? [Spoiler alert: It looks like they will!]

Sam Carne

Played By: Tom York
What’s His Deal: Sam Carne is the elder of Demelza’s Two Hot Brothers™ and he is also (so far) the more boring of the two. Well, not boring, per se. But dour. Sam is by far the most religious of the Carne siblings and takes their abusive father’s death to heart. In fact, he takes his vow to his dying father to become a minister very, very seriously. He’s all about converting souls and taking over church services. So far, the steamiest thing about Sam is his obsession with fire and brimstone, but given that this is Poldark, we wouldn’t be surprised if some wild English rose catches his eye in due course. Oh, and he’s also already pissed off George Warleggan. Sam Carne brings the drama.
How Can You Tell Him Apart From The Other One: Sam’s eyes are more hazel-y, his skin tone is slightly more olive, and his hair is floppier. Oh, and he’s constantly talking about religion.

Drake Carne

Played By: Harry Richardson (whom you may have previously spotted starring in Julian Fellowes Presents Doctor Thorne)

What’s His Deal: Drake Carne is the younger of Demelza’s Two Hot Brothers™ and the show seems to like him more. You can tell because so far he’s gotten more screentime and most of that screentime is devoted to how sweet and cute and lovesick and charming he is. He’s even introduced skipping over the meadows. Drake is loyal to his family and willing to take up his deceased father’s charge to become a minister, but he already seems more interested in nature than church. Drake is also head over heels for Elizabeth’s cousin Morwenna and is already wooing her with wildflowers and bracelets, and he’s adding her to his prayers. Drake brings the romance.
How Can You Tell Him Apart From The Other One: Drake’s eyes are darker, his skin is paler, and his hair is more spiky (or curly) than floppy. He’s also constantly swooning over Morwenna.

Welcome to Poldark, Demelza’s Hot Brothers. Welcome. Things were getting rather bleak before you showed up and started frolicking in the surf.
