HBO has unleashed an eerie first trailer to its forthcoming Beware the Slenderman documentary. The chilling clip introduces viewers to the horrific false icon (created by an internet meme) and the Wisconsin pre-teens who were involved in one of the most shocking attempted murder cases of our day.

According to Rolling Stone, the brand new footage shows never-before-seen interviews with the two 12-year-old suspects Morgan Geyser (who has since been diagnosed with early onset schizophrenia) and Anissa Weier. The victim, 11-year-old Payton Leutner, had survived the stabbing after being lured into the woods by the two suspects in an attempted ritual killing to appease the fictional ghoul. Beware the Slenderman will air on HBO and HBO Now on January 23rd.

According to a press release, Hannah James and Tanya Reynolds have been cast in the roles of sisters for Starz’ forthcoming Book 3 (“Voyager”) season of Outlander. The original series from Sony Pictures Television is based on Diana Gabaldon’s international best-selling books and adapted for television by Ronald D. Moore.

Starz has also revealed that eight of its premium broadcast networks, including its full VOD library, will be available to DirecTV Now subscribers once AT&T releases the highly anticipated platform. The live television streaming service will tentatively cost $35 per month and is expected to launch later this month. [Deadline]
