What Does Your Least Favorite ‘Daredevil’ Character Say About You?

It’s time to fess up: We love Daredevil. Season two was explosive, complex, and totally exciting. However, the more we watch the show, savor it, and dissect it with our friends, we’ve noticed that everyone has one minor quibble with it. Everyone hates one specific character on the Daredevil. The really odd thing — and this twitter chain started by my colleague Joe Reid confirms it — is that everyone hates a different specific character.

Usually when viewers hate one character on a show, they can be comforted with the knowledge that a huge swath of people also finds this particular character insufferable. Take Marnie on Girls, for instance. However, in the case of Daredevil, arguments can be made against each and every one of the primary players. We’ve even heard people complain about Daredevil! In some cases, people can’t abide the morality of a character, in others, it’s what they perceive to be a slow-moving storyline. We’re not interested in that. We want to play armchair psychologist. As much as we prefer to define ourselves by what we love, we can often get a truer portrait of who we are when we face what it is we hate.  So what does your least favorite Daredevil character say about you?

LEAST FAVORITE CHARACTER: The Punisher
WHAT IT SAYS ABOUT YOU: You are the sunshine of your friend circle. You’re always arguing that things can be sorted out with empathy and vibrant conversation. In fact, you are a loquacious and emotionally open sort of person. The only thing you hate more than violence is the military-industrial complex! Besides that, you don’t hate much except pain. Oh, and The Punisher. You dislike the Punisher because he flaunts all these things.

LEAST FAVORITE CHARACTER: Foggy Nelson
WHAT IT SAYS ABOUT YOU: You are a creation of discerning tastes. Only the most elevated conversation and company will do for you — and anyone who can’t keep up should be left behind! Glamour is what you want. You want glamour and success and witty conversation. You will soar like an eagle over the mediocre plebs below you! That’s why you can’t fathom why Daredevil would deign to hang with a soft, loyal, slightly-above-average schlub like Foggy.

LEAST FAVORITE CHARACTER: Karen Page
WHAT IT SAYS ABOUT YOU: You are a take charge, “get down to business” kind of person who hates distractions.You are all about action, going forth, and seizing the day. That’s why you can’t stomach it when someone takes the attention off the real crisis at hand and makes it all about their own small issues. Meddlers! You hate meddlers! You also hate improbably unlucky people. Like, how many times can one person be in the wrong place at the right time? Maybe you’re doing this to yourself, KAREN!

LEAST FAVORITE CHARACTER: Elektra
WHAT IT SAYS ABOUT YOU: You are a grounded individual who likes it keep it real. That’s why you perceive the emotional crusades of the rich and beautiful to be not only boring, but also insipid. The only thing you hate more than that is when people be crazy. You hate drama almost as much as you hate stage-five clingers who bring the drama (along with an invasion of the Yakuza). Elektra epitomizes all you disdain. She is haughty and unhinged — a thoroughly ungovernable combination.

LEAST FAVORITE CHARACTER: Kingpin
WHAT IT SAYS ABOUT YOU: Everyone knows that Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin is a perfectly executed, meaningfully layered look at the pernicious righteousness of true evil.  So you either don’t exist or live to be the ultimate contrarian.

LEAST FAVORITE CHARACTER: Daredevil
WHAT IT SAYS ABOUT YOU: You are an adventurer. You’re always on the vanguard and you gladly where your cynicism on your leather moto jacket sleeve. You’ve had it up to here with people who martyr themselves for no good reason. That, or you hate man-children who leave emotional devastation in their wake. (Like, Matt is kind of a dick to Foggy, right? And all his love interests? And his father figure? And his clients? You’re totally in the right to point it out.)

LEAST FAVORITE CHARACTER: You Don’t Have One
WHAT IT SAYS ABOUT YOU: Well, look at you! You are a very balanced individual who understands the simple pleasures of getting lost in a pulpy television show. You don’t hate anyone on the show because you’re just here for the philosophizing and wall kicks. Good for you! (We mean that.)
