If you’ve ever thought twice about catching up on one of your favorite Netflix shows during your lunch break because you received that dreaded text from AT&T or Verizon letting you know that you’ve surpassed 90% of your allotted monthly data, you may now have a little more freedom. Netflix feels your pain and has claimed that they’ve been transmitting lower quality video to mobile users tied to the two service providers in an effort to prevent you from going over your data cap, via the official Netflix blog. “We believe restrictive data caps are bad for consumers and the Internet in general, creating a dilemma for those who increasingly rely on their mobile devices for entertainment, work and more,” said Anne Marie Squeo.  Now, you’re probably wondering if this means that you’ll be getting crappy quality video now. Well, yeah, it probably won’t be in high definition, but, Squeo added: “It’s about striking a balance that ensures a good streaming experience while avoiding unplanned fines from mobile providers.”
