#ELEVATE: Shia LaBeouf Is Livestreaming Being Stuck In A British Elevator For 48 Hours

Shia LaBeouf might not be famous anymore, but he’s definitely causing waves as a modern artist. After the crazy success of last year’s #ALLMYMOVIES, where LaBeouf set up a live stream of himself watching a backwards marathon of his entire filmography, he’s back! This time LaBeouf and his pals Rönkkö & Turner are hyping their presentation at the world-famous Oxford Union by livestreaming their occupation of an Oxfordian elevator for the 24 hours surrounding the talk (February 19, 2016 9 AM GMT – February 20, 2016 9 AM GMT).

That’s right: You can listen to/watch Shia and his buddies shoot the breeze and talk the mysteries of life all while stuck in a fancy British elevator. The project is called #ELEVATE and will be streaming on the Oxford Union’s official YouTube page until 4AM EST tomorrow.

The Oxford Union is the prestigious heart of Oxford University’s culture. It’s a debating society that hosts world leaders and celebrity lectures. LaBeouf, Rönkkö & Turner are appearing to speak at the Oxford Union tonight at 8 PM GMT.

So, far the talk has been pretty enlightening about LaBeouf and his worldview. He kind of admits that the art projects he does are a little silly and that it scares his mother and his employers in Hollywood, comparing himself to a racehorse that doesn’t want to race. Later, he asks what’s up with the fact that there are lions everywhere, but not in England.

“We’re not trying to change the world,” said LaBeouf at one point. “We’re just in an elevator.”

Setting the bar low is a good strategy. Fingers crossed it’s better than Devil!
