The delightful historical adventure series Da Vinci’s Demons is returning for its third and final season tomorrow night at 8 PM ET on Starz and during the hiatus we found ourselves asking a lot of questions. Like, how can the show ever top going to the New World? How does Lucrezia always have such perfect hair? What’s the deal with Leonardo’s sexuality?!?!?

Many scholars now believe that the great genius Leonardo Da Vinci was homosexual. Even though Da Vinci’s Demons is couched in historical fantasy, the show did present a version of the mastermind that had romantic feelings for other men. Still, Da Vinci’s main crush is on the beautiful — and female — Lucrezia Donati (Laura Haddock). This major plot point ruffled the feathers of quite a few critics and bloggers. So when we got the chance to sit down with the stars of the show last year, we asked them point blank.

The actor who plays Leonardo Da Vinci, Tom Riley, took the question to heart and carefully explained what his opinion on the topic was. Riley told us, “He is, in my mind, canonically bisexual. He is attracted to men and he is attracted to women on the show.” Check out the video below for Riley’s full answer.

Da Vinci’s Demons fans might have had to wait a while for this final season, but there’s a silver lining. You’ll be able to stream the ENTIRE SEASON online at Starz’s official site or on STARZ Play after the third season debuts tomorrow at 8 PM ET.
