It’s Wednesday, which means it’s socially acceptable to very publicly crush on your favorite lady. This week, we’re head over heels for Alexandra Socha of Amazon’s new throwback ’80s comedy, Red Oaks. Debuting on Amazon Prime Video Friday October 9, the series revolves around introvert David (Craig Roberts) and his life-changing summer at the titular New Jersey country club. Socha plays the mysterious Skye, who catches David’s eye his first day on the job. The only problem (other than the fact he has a girlfriend) is that she’s the daughter of the ruthless Doug Getty (Paul Reiser), who rules Red Oaks Country Club with an iron fist. Over the course of ten episodes, the 25-year-old Socha brings a mix of Audrey Tautou and Ally Sheedy to the role of too-cool Skye, who represents that intriguing stranger who challenges everything we thought we knew about love.

WHO’S THAT GAL?: Alexandra Socha

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: The hair, the shades, the sass. The sass.

WHERE YOU KNOW HER FROM: When she’s not at Red Oaks Country Club or performing on the New York stage (she appeared in the original production of the Tony-winning musical Fun Home), Socha is making appearances across primetime. You may recognize her at Molly from Royal Pains or Mia from the Laura Linney-starring cancer dramedy The Big C. She’s also starred alongside Glenn Close and Rose Byrne in the criminally underrated legal drama Damages.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER NEXT: We’re waiting to see where Socha will pop up after Red Oaks, but in the meantime enjoy her as the tennis-hating honey who’s an inspiration to us all by playing hard to get.

You can watch the Red Oaks pilot now on Amazon Prime Video. Season One will be available to stream Friday, October 9th.
