Variety broke the news that Modern Family actress Sofia Vergara will be the star of a new series, titled Vergaraland, set to debut this summer on Snapchat. Yes, the same Snapchat you use to send endless selfies to your contact list will be working in tandem with Fusion TV to produce a brand-new “short form series.”

Vergara has had quite the week: from landing a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and attending the premiere for her new comedy, Hot Pursuit, to the announcement of an innovation new turn in television. Though this kind of platform release might be brand-new news to some, Fusion TV has actually partnered with the photo and video sharing app in the recent past with short form series Outpost, along with the upcoming fashion docuseries Weird Threads and music-centric Off the Record. If you’re like, “What the heck is Fusion?” — it’s a multi-platform channel that creates its own original video shorts along with full-length series.

Vergaraland is said to be a “tongue-in-cheek” comedy based on Vergara’s life told through her son’s perspective, Manolo González Vergara. As of now there is no set date for Vergaraland‘s summertime debut, but Snapchat users can look forward to having something to watch other than their friends’ drunken mishaps.
