“Have you ever wondered if there was more to life, other than being really, really, ridiculously good looking?”
That was the philosophical quandary at the center of the classic Ben Stiller comedy, Zoolander. The absurd 2001 film satirized the media’s obsession with fashion and beauty, while also promoting awareness about children’s literacy.
The film followed dim-witted male supermodel Derek Zoolander as he tried to save the world, to impress his dad, and to overcome his biggest competition: Hansel (Owen Wilson).
Well, Still and Wilson and company are back. Zoolander 2 is currently in production (with a script by Stiller and Justin Theroux) and we all got a sneak peak at the action at Paris fashion week this morning. Zoolander and Hansel walked the Valentino runway like gorgeous demigods — and it was all captured on social media!
First, Zoolander and Hansel were caught backstage at Valentino’s show with the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour (aka the IRL Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada).
Then, Paper Magazine got a prime snapshot of the two legendary male models striking a pose at the end of the runway. Now, a picture might be worth a thousand retweets, but how do we know if the greatest male model of all time still has it? Well, someone caught his beautiful gazelle-like stride on Vine.
Work, Derek, work.
